# Philippine fiesta research, 2026–2027 **981 distinct celebration records · 1234 occurrences · 309 barangay, sitio or chapel celebrations · 239 sources.** Researched on **September 22, 2026**. Covers **September 23, 2026 through December 31, 2027**, using Philippine time (UTC+8). This is a broad catalog of what was found, not an exhaustive census of all Philippine fiestas. ## Open the list - [Searchable offline calendar](fiesta_calendar.html) — open in a browser; filter by month, place, date status and small-locality celebrations. - [Excel workbook](fiestas_2026-2027.xlsx) — filterable Calendar, Mindanao, Metro Manila, Dates pending, and Sources sheets. - [Mindanao by province](mindanao_2026-2027.md), [Mindanao CSV](mindanao_2026-2027.csv), and [research audit](research/MINDANAO_AUDIT.md). - [Metro Manila by city](metro_manila_2026-2027.md), [Metro Manila CSV](metro_manila_2026-2027.csv), and [coverage audit](research/METRO_MANILA_AUDIT.md). - [CSV master list](fiestas_2026-2027.csv) — UTF-8 with BOM for Excel; one row per occurrence. - [Source register](research/SOURCES.md), [research log](research/RESEARCH_LOG.md), and [conflicts / leads to verify](research/PENDING_VERIFICATION.md). ## Read dates carefully | Status | Meaning | Occurrences | | --- | --- | --- | | Recurring estimate | Annual calendar date projected forward, or inferred from an earlier edition; not year-specific confirmation. | 927 | | Window only (unconfirmed) | Only a month or season is supported. Exact date fields are blank. | 268 | | Historical lead (verify) | A historical source with additional reliability concerns; reconfirm locally. | 33 | | Announced (official) | A source specifically identifies the future year and date. | 4 | | Published program (secondary) | A local guide publishes a year-specific schedule; verify against the organizer. | 1 | | Reported (organizer quoted) | A news report quotes the organizer's future-year dates. | 1 | A date precise to the day is not necessarily confirmed. Feast days, civic fiestas, grand parades and closing events may be different. The notes and source caveats preserve these distinctions. No organizer or parish was contacted. ## Useful starting points | Celebration | Date / window | Status | Evidence | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | MassKara, Bacolod | October 1–18, 2026; highlights October 9–18 | Official announcement | [Bacolod City](https://bacolodcity.gov.ph/masskara-festival-2026-set-on-october-1-18/) | | MassKara closing / awarding | October 25, 2026 | Separate official event | [Bacolod City](https://bacolodcity.gov.ph/masskara-festival-2026-set-on-october-1-18/) | | Sinulog, Cebu | January 7–17, 2027; grand parade January 17 | Organizer quoted in news | [MyTV Cebu](https://mytv.ph/article/no-proposed-budget-yet-for-2027-sinulog) | | Ati-Atihan, Kalibo | January 17, 2027 culmination | Third-Sunday estimate | [TPB](https://tpb.gov.ph/tpb-calendar-of-promotions-and-marketing-activities/calendar-of-philippine-festivals-and-monthly-observances-theme/) | | Dinagyang, Iloilo | January 24, 2027 main Sunday | Fourth-Sunday estimate | [TPB](https://tpb.gov.ph/tpb-calendar-of-promotions-and-marketing-activities/calendar-of-philippine-festivals-and-monthly-observances-theme/) | | Higantes, Angono | November 15, 2026 / November 21, 2027 | Third-Sunday estimates; town fiesta is November 23 | [Angono LGU](https://angono.gov.ph/about-angono/brief-profile/) | ## By month Counts include carryovers and approximate windows. A multi-month event appears in each applicable monthly file but is counted once in the master list. | Month | Entries | | --- | ---: | | [September 2026](monthly/2026-09.md) | 34 | | [October 2026](monthly/2026-10.md) | 78 | | [November 2026](monthly/2026-11.md) | 49 | | [December 2026](monthly/2026-12.md) | 85 | | [January 2027](monthly/2027-01.md) | 93 | | [February 2027](monthly/2027-02.md) | 61 | | [March 2027](monthly/2027-03.md) | 59 | | [April 2027](monthly/2027-04.md) | 57 | | [May 2027](monthly/2027-05.md) | 208 | | [June 2027](monthly/2027-06.md) | 98 | | [July 2027](monthly/2027-07.md) | 46 | | [August 2027](monthly/2027-08.md) | 80 | | [September 2027](monthly/2027-09.md) | 92 | | [October 2027](monthly/2027-10.md) | 77 | | [November 2027](monthly/2027-11.md) | 49 | | [December 2027](monthly/2027-12.md) | 85 | ## Scope and method Religious fiestas, community harvest/cultural festivals, and civic celebrations explicitly called fiestas are included. Ordinary national holidays, commercial concerts and unrelated trade events are omitted. Barangay and sitio records are retained individually, even when several places share one date. Exact annual dates and weekday rules are calculated for the relevant year. Vague phrases such as ‘third week’ remain approximate. Western Easter in 2027 is March 28; Holy Week ranges are calculated, not treated as announced programs. Multi-date local traditions retain separate occurrences. Events extending into 2028 are included only for their 2027 portion, with the original ending preserved and flagged. The province field groups independent cities geographically where useful and is not a statement of administrative jurisdiction. Coverage is deepest where LGUs publish inventories: Dapitan, Guagua, Dagupan, Laurel, San Jose del Monte, Bohol and Cebu. A deeper Metro Manila audit covers all 17 LGUs, using barangay profiles, diocesan inventories and individual parish sources; coverage within each LGU remains incomplete. The Mindanao expansion emphasizes Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN, including General Santos puroks, small Christian communities, and cultural festivals in Maguindanao and the southern islands. See its province list and audit for remaining gaps. Some official pages contain old dates, copy errors or inaccessible documents. Publication ages and access limitations are recorded per source. September 2026 month-only leads that might already be over are withheld from the upcoming calendar. See the research notes before relying on a legacy entry. ## Maintain this research The editable factual catalogs are [research/catalog.py](research/catalog.py), [research/metro_manila.py](research/metro_manila.py) and [research/mindanao.py](research/mindanao.py); [research/catalog.json](research/catalog.json) contains all records and sources. Rebuild the spreadsheet, CSVs, Mindanao province list, Metro Manila city list, monthly files and HTML with `python -X utf8 research/build_catalog.py` (requires `openpyxl`). Rebuilding formats does not perform new research or advance the cutoff date. [Validation report](research/validation.json): date arithmetic, scope, source references, duplicate IDs, and workbook/CSV consistency were checked. Source links were consulted during research; the report is not a guarantee that every remote page remains available. ## Weekly updates See [hosting and weekly research](MAINTENANCE.md) for the cloud schedule, persistent source history, and update process. Each calendar row keeps its own evidence-check date; rebuilding files does not refresh it.
