# Conflicting dates, withheld entries and follow-up leads Checked **September 22, 2026**. These are research findings, not confirmed upcoming events. They explain omissions and preserve useful directions for further research. ## Mindanao audit follow-up The [Mindanao audit](MINDANAO_AUDIT.md) records the southern expansion's sources, corrections and unresolved leads. Mindanao now has **360 celebration records / 457 occurrences**, including **226 records in Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN**. The added dates are annual estimates or month windows; future-year parish, barangay and cultural-festival programs remain unverified. Priority unresolved items include copied Catholink fields, General Santos's old 2011 tables, Davao del Sur's missing parish dates, Carrascal's biennial cycle, Tampakan's June/August conflict, current Sulu festival editions, and the inaccessible Bukidnon yearbook. Inaul's old February listing is withheld because newer reporting describes a pause and no verified return of the former annual festival. Named Davao GKK reports without a sufficiently precise neighborhood are also held out. See the audit for links and the reasons for each decision. ## Metro Manila audit follow-up The [Metro Manila audit](METRO_MANILA_AUDIT.md) has the detailed city-by-city coverage and date-decision register for the expanded 190-record catalog. Priorities include San Pedro Bautista's changing fiesta Sunday, Marikina's liturgical versus town fiesta, Santa Clara's civic/parish dates, Kalookan and Pasig directory inconsistencies, and Valenzuela alternate-year cycles. Northern Caloocan/Novaliches and smaller chapels outside the inventories remain underrepresented. [QC_LEGACY_LEADS.csv](QC_LEGACY_LEADS.csv) contains 138 historical table rows from a 2014 city ordinance. Some overlap listed fiestas; several contain stale movable dates or apparent copy errors. They are leads for parish/barangay reconciliation, not additional confirmed 2026/2027 occurrences. Future-year Metro Manila parade, novena and civic-night programs remain unverified. ## Decisions already reflected in the calendar | Issue | Decision and evidence | | --- | --- | | Tondo: January 19 vs. third Sunday | [GMA's 2025 procession report](https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/topstories/metro/933347/devotees-attend-sto-ni-o-de-tondo-procession-in-manila/story/) identifies January 19 as the 2025 date and states the annual third-Sunday rule. Added January 17, 2027 as a recurring estimate; the parish's full 2027 program remains unverified. | | MassKara 2026 length | Used [Bacolod City's October 1–18 announcement](https://bacolodcity.gov.ph/masskara-festival-2026-set-on-october-1-18/). Highlights are October 9–18. The October 25 closing/awarding is a separate record. No exact 2027 run was copied from 2026. | | Sinulog weekday error | The [legacy TPB calendar](https://tpb.gov.ph/tpb-calendar-of-promotions-and-marketing-activities/calendar-of-philippine-festivals-and-monthly-observances-theme/) has inconsistent second/third-Sunday wording. Used [the September 18, 2026 organizer interview](https://mytv.ph/article/no-proposed-budget-yet-for-2027-sinulog): opening January 7 and parade January 17, 2027. | | Higantes vs. San Clemente | [Angono's profile](https://angono.gov.ph/about-angono/brief-profile/) distinguishes the third-Sunday festival from the November 23 town fiesta. Separate records preserve that distinction. | | La Naval | Used [Quezon City's second-Sunday rule](https://quezoncity.gov.ph/departments/quezon-city-tourism-department/), not an old calendar's fixed October 11 date in every year. | | Lami-Lamihan | Legacy TPB puts it in April. [PIA's Lamitan reporting](https://pia.gov.ph/news/40th-lami-lamihan-festival-depicts-colorful-vibrant-culture-progressive-lamitan-city/) supports late June and a June 29 parish fiesta. | | Binabayani location | Legacy TPB says Olongapo. Used [DOT's Masinloc entry](https://www.tourism.gov.ph/explore/binabayani-festival/) and November 30 patronal anchor. | | Diyandi, Iligan | Used [the September 2026 official proclamation report](https://pia.gov.ph/news/president-marcos-declares-special-non-working-days-in-five-municipalities-and-two-cities/) identifying September 29, rather than legacy TPB's September 27. | | Irosin festival name | Current proclamation calls the September 29 celebration **Paray Festival**. Legacy Hin-ay season was not counted again as a separate confirmed 2026 festival. | | Holy Week | Legacy fixed April dates were not projected into 2027. Easter-dependent entries use March 28, 2027 Easter and sourced liturgical relationships. | | Lanzones | No convincing year-specific organizer schedule was verified. Kept October windows. An aggregator's October 20–27, 2026 claim appears to repeat TPB's undated October 20–27 range. | | Giant Lantern Festival | Retained December windows. Neither a legacy month-long display listing nor a generic Saturday rule was treated as a confirmed competition date. | | Kaamulan | Old government pages disagree on February/March versus March/April. [Recent 2026 reporting](https://pia.gov.ph/features/all-set-for-kaamulan-street-dancing-event-featuring-bukidnons-seven-tribes/) supports a March–April window; no exact 2027 dates inferred. | | Kalivungan | [September 1, 2026 reporting](https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1283090) supersedes the old TPB August 17–18 entry. September 1, 2027 is an anniversary estimate only. | | Suroy sa Musikero and Christmas events | Preserved the full sourced cross-year span. The 2027 editions extend into 2028, but only their 2027 portion is in scope. | ## Withheld or insufficiently resolved | Lead | Why it is not presented as an upcoming exact date | | --- | --- | | Sigayan, Dapitan | [LGU table](https://dapitancity.gov.ph/barangay-fiesta-and-patron/) has a truncated “May 1 Sitio / Dec. 9 Brgy. Fies” cell. Locality and observance distinction need checking. | | Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan | [City calendar](https://www.dagupan.gov.ph/the-city/calendar-of-activities/) says “By Sitio,” without dates or sitio names. | | San Martin IV, San Jose del Monte | [Bulacan plan, printed p. 225](https://bulacan.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/BulacanPDPFP_2024-2036.pdf) assigns the “San Martin IV” feast to “Minuyan IV.” Withheld until the mismatch is resolved. | | General Graceville San Jose entry | [2018 city profile](https://csjdm.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Ecological-ProfileP-2018.pdf) also lists an unspecific May 1 San Jose fiesta. Named local chapel records are already included; the unspecific row might duplicate them. | | Muzon boundaries | Included Obrero Festival using the historical location label in the source. Current subdivision boundaries should be checked rather than assigning it to a new barangay without evidence. | | Bohol: Anda, Bien Unido, Loay | [Provincial table](https://ppdo.bohol.gov.ph/ppdofiles/Profile/SocioEconomicProfile/SocialDevelopment/CultureArtsHeritage.pdf#page=50) explicitly leaves days movable. Only month windows appear. Loay's June entry merits checking against the local parish's Trinity observance. | | Bohol: San Isidro town fiesta | The provincial town table omits it. The separately sourced Agbunan Festival is included; no missing parish date was invented. | | Jagna Sinu-og Estokada | [Bohol tourism page](https://tourism.bohol.gov.ph/2020/09/16/festival-and-events-2020/) heading gives September 21 while its body describes September 29 feast activities. Jagna's September 29 town fiesta is included using the provincial feast table; the contradictory festival heading is withheld. | | La Union: Luna parish fiesta | [2024 profile](https://launion.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1-La-Union-Ecological-Profile-2024-Final.pdf#page=416) says November 24; [older profile](https://launion.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Trade-Industry-Tourism.pdf#page=12) says November 25. Civic November window retained; exact parish day withheld. | | La Union: Rosario parish fiesta | New profile says December 18, older one December 8. Needs local resolution. | | La Union: Pugo parish fiesta | Sources disagree on date rule and patron; parish entry withheld. Civic fiesta remains separately labeled. | | La Union: Aringay | [Investment profile](https://invest.launion.gov.ph/cost-of-doing-business/aringay/) and 2024 table support December 13. Another official municipal-summary page incorrectly pairs Saint Lucy with May 4. Calendar follows the consistent December sources. | | Tigbauan, Iloilo | [Provincial profile](https://iloilo.gov.ph/en/node/175) says second Sunday of January; [older local guide and comments](https://www.exploreiloilo.com/guide/iloilo-towndistrict-fiesta-schedules/) disagree about January town/poblacion celebrations and the June parish feast. Withheld until local confirmation. | | Other Iloilo towns | [Explore Iloilo's 2016 list](https://www.exploreiloilo.com/guide/iloilo-towndistrict-fiesta-schedules/) has useful leads but also identified errors and comments disputing dates. Only independently supported Iloilo entries were added. | | Lang-ay, Mountain Province | [PIA reports cancellation of April 6–12, 2026 activities](https://pia.gov.ph/news/mountain-province-cancels-19th-lang-ay-festival-events-amid-national-energy-emergency-declaration/). No 2027 resumption verified; not automatically projected. | | Nangkaan and Tangub Festival of Lights | Legacy TPB marks cancellations, including a February 29 entry. Neither 2026 nor 2027 is a leap year. Withheld rather than silently shifting the date. Tangub's distinct Christmas Symbols festival is included. | | Linapit / Dad-iw entries | Legacy TPB has uncertain place spellings (“Gueday, Besno”; “Bakod, Benguet”). Need locality identification and evidence of present observance. | | September 2026 month-only entries | Aguyod and Megayon might already be over as of cutoff. Their 2027 windows are included; unresolved September 2026 candidates are recorded in [validation.json](validation.json). | ## Further sources worth pursuing - [La Union municipal profiles](https://launion.gov.ph/municipality-of-aringay/) and local parish calendars can resolve differences in the provincial tables. - [Santiago City resolution compilation](https://cityofsantiago.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/R12thCC-021-Refiling-with-the-Sangguniang-Panlungsod-certain-Matters-which-were-not-Resolved-by-the-Previous-Sanggunian.pdf): references barangay fiesta ordinances for San Jose, Salvador, Rizal, Villa Gonzaga, Villasis and San Isidro. The compilation describes matters refiled after not being resolved, so final ordinance status needs checking. - [Bukidnon 2025 statistical yearbook, 2024 data](https://bukidnon.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/BUK-SYB-2025-2024-Data.pdf): tourism chapter has more municipal fiestas. Revisited during the Mindanao expansion; direct requests returned 403 and the full tables remain unextracted. - [TourismCebu open data](https://tourismcebu.com/feeds/): independent CC BY 4.0 calendar and municipal contact links. The main Cebu entries here use the provincial government's own calendar instead; discrepancies between the two deserve follow-up. - [Kalimudan 2025 report](https://pia.gov.ph/news/kalimudan-festival-2025-generates-over-p200m-from-local-economic-activity/) and [MunaTo 2025 reporting](https://pia.gov.ph/news/sarangani-holds-ceremonial-disposal-of-worn-out-philippine-flags/): both festivals are now included as November windows using additional municipal/DepEd evidence. Full 2026/2027 programs remain unverified. - [BLGF CALABARZON calendar](https://blgf.gov.ph/region-4a/): many smaller municipal festivals; includes dates conflicting with newer local sources, so it should be reconciled rather than bulk-imported. For a future update, check the LGU tourism office, the parish's own announcement and the named barangay for the specific year, distinguishing the patronal mass from street dancing and civic nights. No messages or inquiries have been sent to those offices. ## Discovery lead saved during hosting setup — 2026-10-08 [Official Bataan result: Pilar's Kasinagan Festival 2026](https://bataan.gov.ph/news/pilar-celebrates-kasinagan-festival-2026-with-weeklong-activities/) surfaced in a discovery search. The article was not opened during setup and no dates were added from its snippet. Read the original announcement and reconcile it with any existing Pilar fiesta before adding or confirming a record.
